What We Do

It’s been noted that women of color are some of the most artistic and innovative people across the globe.

But often times, it can be difficult to express that creativity and bring our ideas to life. That's why we created the Made By Us Creative Workshop - to give you an opportunity to explore your creativity in a safe space amongst other women who understand the challenges specific to us.

This workshop is an opportunity for BIPOC women to gain exposure to a vast network, build an entrepreneurial spirit, and master a new craft. We provide the space, supplies and materials; you just bring your imagination and great energy. This is the perfect way to meet other women in the community who are working on similar projects as you, as well as a place to get inspired by others' work.

Workshops Galore

  • CandleLight

    We'll be teaching you how to make candles out of all kinds of materials: beeswax, soy wax, and more! You'll get to experiment with color and scent combinations, and even learn how to make your own wick. This workshop is great for anyone who wants to learn candle making—whether they're a beginner or an expert!

  • Fiber Arts

    If you've ever wanted to learn how to make your own beautiful rug, now's your chance. We'll walk you through the process of creating a custom-made rug for your home or office, and it's an experience that will leave you feeling like you can do anything.

  • Art Therapy

    This art therapy workshop is designed to help you understand the power of art, how it can be used to express yourself and heal. You'll learn how to create your own art, and will have the opportunity to try out different materials, including paint, clay, collage and more!

  • Jewelry Making

    With this workshop, you'll get to create your own unique piece of jewelry, using charms and metals—and we promise it will be easy enough for anyone to do. You don't need any previous experience or special tools. Just bring yourself and your creativity!

  • Handbuilding Pottery Workshop

    Handbuilding is a ceramics technique that allows you to create forms with clay and your hands, without using a throwing wheel. Before ceramicists invented the wheel, handbuilding was the only way they could create functional and artistic ceramic forms. All you need to get started are your clay, your hands, and a few simple tools.

  • Panel Discussion

    Join us for a panel talk featuring some of the most talented BIPOC women artists in the region. Learn about their work, their process, and their inspirations. Hear from our panelists and be moved to explore your own creativity and self-expression. Participate in an intimate Q&A session.
